Powered by the high-speed, high-value Iridium OpenPort broadband service, Iridium Pilot delivers exceptional performance, durability and value at sea, anywhere in the world.
The Iridium Pilot below deck unit contains three RJ11 jacks which will enable users to make up to three simultaneous voice calls, even during data transmission. With this functionality it means crew are kept happy and there is no need to queue when they wish to call friends and family. Crew calls can easily be separated for the ship’s business calls for simplified accounting.
The Iridium Pilot is engineered and built to perform in the toughest of conditions.
The unique Iridium constellation of 66 cross-linked Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites provide inherent advantages over GEO satellite constellations, delivering robust communications performance. Iridium is the only satellite operator to offer truly global coverage including the poles. As the Iridium OpenPort broadband service is not affected by extreme weather, many customers with mission-critical communication requirements rely on it for backup to other satellite systems.
